A generalization that can be made is that most large metropolitan cities will have a significant gay/lesbian population and you just need to find out from locals or from gay/lesbian organizations where these might be. Most gay/lesbian friendly destinations can be found on both coasts but this is changing and there are places in the Midwest and even in the South where gay/lesbian communities can be found. Do a little homework and you will be able to find a place that you will love visiting and where you will find lots of friendly faces.
